I just found your blog and am SO excited to read about someone (besides me) tackling the challenge of an “assertive” Boston Terrier head on! I
‘m about to start Thank Dog’s Bootcamp with my almost 2 year old Boston, Winston. He’s not a rescue (we got him from a reputable breeder at 8 weeks), but he has many of the same issues as your little guy. Regardless, I appreciate the insight and am ecstatic to find another owner who does as much research as I do – makes me feel like I’m on the right path.
Hope to see you in class. Keep up the great work!

What a cutie!
I love his eyes.
By the way, I just left a longish comment on your clicker training post. It included several links, and your spam filter might have caught it….
I am enjoying reading through your blog and browsing through your artwork. Looks like Boogie has found a great home with you!
cheers,
Mary H.

Hi!
Boogie is a great dog! I love the eyes.
Anyway I was hoping to get in touch with you via email but this will work. I work in affiliation with a company that provides pet supplies and I think Boogie would approve. If you could please email me regarding any opportunities you have please let me know!
Thanks!

Hi! I came across your drawings and absolutely adore them! We have an 11-month-old BT named Athina and she is definitely stubborn and willful like Boogie. Love your blog and love your drawings!

Just found your blog. Boogie is adorable and so BT. I have 4 Bostons at this time, a 3 year old, an almost 2 year old and 2 puppies (15 weeks). They can all be very willful and stubborn. The 2 older ones are therapy dogs. The pups are in training. My 2 year old is very reactive. We were shocked when we got her because she was so different from our first BT. We say she is intense because she is so fixed and agressive toward things. She is a very sweet dog but we have to watch her until she gets used to new little people. She tends to play very roughly.

I was browsing Modern Dog and found your unbelievably fabulous blog and love it. I have 2 Tibetan Terriers and have a personal blog about them in blogspot http://wigglebuttduncan.blogspot.com/2009/10/tales-of-wigglebutt-duncan-tibetan.html and one that goes with our website (infrequent, need to do something about it; if you like, you can visit it at http://www.bumperpet.com). Am also now blogging about dogs and owners for ChicagoNow.com (in my spare time, lol, check my bio). Keep up the great work. I am now a subscriber and plan to order the BAT book through your site. All the best, Sue Yellen

I have 2 BT…husband and wife…both fixed now. Trixie is an alpha female and rules the roost…does not tolerate ANY dog near her family…becomes very aggressive and attacks…at 19lbs, she took on a 180lb Newfoundland…he froze and I had her on leash…any ideas for controlling her behavior?
17.
lili | February 9, 2012 at 8:14 pm
Lucy, you need to work with a dog trainer/behaviorist. I am just a regular dog owner. And by the way, you can’t “control” your dog’s behavior if you don’t know how to listen to her or read the signals she is sending you and deal specifically with what the problem is… Every dog is an individual so there is no one blanket solution for aggression. So do hire a trainer – esp. a positive reinforcement trainer. Good luck!

LOVE your blog! I have a BT named Bowie … also from Boston Buddies… also looks like JUST like Boogie – about 29 lbs, with a blue eye and brown eye … also poops on plants and flowers …. also does everything else Boogie seems to do …
Glad Im not alone!

lili | April 6, 2012 at 12:12 am
Danielle, If only I had a dollar for every single time someone meeting Boogie said to me: “He looks like Bowie! ”
Funny thing is, years ago, there was a blue-eyed boston in my neighborhood also named Bowie. He wasn’t from Boston Buddies, though. Are you in LA too?

Hi! I’ve just seen this: http://laughingsquid.com/doggie-drawings-a-series-of-dog-posters-portraits-by-lili-chin/…. but I’m really horrified and concerned with the picture below. Is it really your dog? I mean… is he really wearing a prong (choking) collar???? (it’s a really horrible and painful for dogs) I really hope this is just a mistake, and it’s another dog…
21.
lili | May 10, 2012 at 5:02 pm
Hi Fidel,
I don’t know which photo you are referring to. I don’t see any dogs when I click on the link. However, my dog Boogie did use to wear a prong collar several years ago as part of an Obedience training program. At the time I didn’t know there were other methods available and did as I was taught. I stopped using the collar and crossed over to friendlier training methods. The full story is on this blog. (from 2007 – present day)
P.S. We don’t know each other and I consider your comment very insensitive, if the “horrifying” photo you saw was really of my dog. I believe that if we want to advocate humane training methods, we should be sensitive, kind and share our knowledge. Making people feel GUILTY does not work.

BTW – can any of your “Boogie loves…” postcards be made into an iPhone4 case??? I would be ALL about that. It would be SOOOO me.

that is a great idea, Tami. I don’t have a iPhone so I can’t test anything… but let me look into it.

SQUEEEEAAAALLLL!!! I’m so excited! I looked at the site earlier, I swear! How did you make that happen already??? Now I have to choose one. Sad that “Boris” and “Baroness” are not among the options, but I’m leaning toward napping or reading lady with her Boston. Or maybe ice cream lady…
Yay! My DREAM phone case! Wonder why it says the “tough” one is not compatible with Sprint iPhone?? All iPhones are the same. Hmmmm…..obviously too sleepy to order tonight. Later this week.
THANK YOU!
Tami (and SIdd)

Living in France with a female boston terrier, 3 years old, i really appréciate all about your Fantastic Boogie. My little Eroin is fantastic and so kind too, but she is fear of people and dogs, and she bit sometimes. I discover BAT and the DR Yin’s method with your blog. I practice alone because i don’t find BAT in France. I want to have a muzzle for Eroin to help her meeting quietly people. But i can’t find a muzzle for her little face.
Do you know where i can find o muzzle for her. I don’t really like muzzle but may be i must buy one to help Eroin to progress.

Daniele, It is better to get a professional dog trainer at first. .. do you want me to ask around and find a BAT trainer in France?
34.
Daniele Jallerat | December 5, 2012 at 7:36 pm
Yes, i understand i need a professionnal dog trainer. So it’ll be so fantastic if you could find for me a BAT trainer in France not too far from Rennes in Brittany.
I really enjoy Boogie’s blog and your Doggie drawings. I’m always expecting the Boogie’s news.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

Hi! I’m so glad to have found this blog! I’ve recently adopted my sister’s Boston Terrier, an energetic, lovable little guy by the name of Nigel. We’re not quite sure of his age, but I’m guessing he’s about 5 or 6. And he’s great!
I look forward to spending many hours on your blog, learning all I can about Boston Terriers!
